Welcome to the AT&T Illinois Public Policy Microsite.

For more than 134 years, AT&T has consistently provided innovative, reliable, high-quality products and services and excellent customer care. Today, our mission is to connect people with their world, everywhere they live and work, and do it better than anyone else. We're fulfilling this vision by creating new solutions for consumers and businesses and by driving innovation in the communications and entertainment industry.

Today’s modern telecommunications world is extremely competitive and consumers are enjoying the benefits – more innovation, improved services and increasing value.

At AT&T we are connecting people on the move with smartphones, tablets and mobile devices as our wireless and wireline networks work 24-7-365 to connect Illinois consumers and businesses to their world.

Our wireless network allows customers to Rethink Possible.

That’s important, because our network is carrying vital information at all hours, including:
     • information for law enforcement and public safety
• medical images and information for doctors, nurses and surgeons
     • educational lectures for students
• updates from the Illinois State Capitol
     • immediate pictures of a newborn baby
     • or a phone call just to ask “How are you?”
The AT&T network is delivering for our customers and for Illinois.

For businesses that rely on wireless broadband to compete and spur economic growth, for first responders and emergency networks, for consumers who want to text a friend, call a loved one or check on the score of the game – AT&T is strengthening its network in Chicago and throughout Illinois to provide the best possible experience for our customers.

It’s a big responsibility, but we welcome the challenge.

AT&T is one of the largest private sector employers in Illinois, and we are investing considerable resources to this state, including:
     • AT&T invested nearly $3.5 Billion in our wireless and wireline networks in Illinois from 2009-2011.
     • AT&T is committed to philanthropic giving as our company donated more than $21 million to Illinois charitable organizations from 2008-2011.
     • AT&T is committed to volunteer causes in Illinois as our employees provided 168,000 volunteer hours in 2011.

Illinois’ most famous son, Abraham Lincoln, said, “The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.”

At AT&T, as we prepare for the future, we are working hard every day to build on our proud heritage of delivering for the people of Illinois.
